Medium density, urban village master plan of up to 600 dwellings over 11ha of 2-15 storey buildings
A vibrant new community in the heart of Aura City Centre
Occupying a catalytic corner of the city centre frame, Aura Central Urban Village (ACUV) will offer further housing diversity within the Aura City Master Plan and demonstrate density and diversity done well.
Archipelago has enjoyed a working relationship with Stockland since 2020, where we have provided city-making design leadership, master planning, urban design and architecture services to deliver a best practice urban village.
Targeting downsizers, mature families and young professionals, the design response will see up to 600 dwellings with high value amenity delivered within the city centre, staged over the next decade.
Representative of diversity, Stage 1 of the Urban Village will offer ten different housing typologies ranging from one-bedroom accessible compact-housing to two, three and four bedroom town homes and apartments, also offering a range of price points for purchasers and residents.
The value proposition for the residential master plan is structured around a rich green open space ecosystem and a high quality, people-focused urban street network. Streets and pathways are activated by the considered placement of front doors and the inclusion of home offices or studios on the ground floor. A sharing economy is fostered through the strong physical and visual connection to shared green and recreational amenity.
The design objective of the project has been to provide each dwelling with a connection to green and leverage the lifestyle offering of People’s Place through creating a highly permeable village that is walkable and urban in nature. Buildings are arranged to maximise favourable solar orientation, natural light and cross ventilation. Open plan living spaces are multi-functional and integrate seamlessly with outdoor living spaces and courtyards which tie the landscape to the architecture and interiors.
The Development Application for the first stage of Aura Central Urban Village was lodged in December 2022 which includes 64 townhouses and associated green space plus communal amenity including a pool house, BBQ and outdoor dining, and Stockland sales office.
