A Children’s Hospital ‘Juiced’ Box
This project was developed in close collaboration with Juiced TV, an organisation who create video content for kids, by kids, aired within the Queensland Children’s Hospital.
The Archipelago Architects designed ‘Juicedbox,’ offers the not-for-profit organization a home base and recording studio within the Queensland Children’s hospital.
Seeking to establish a base of operations at the hospital, the project allows Juiced TV to expand filming capabilities within the hospital, streamline current workflows and increase engagement opportunities with kids, their families, and the clinicians. Archipelago lead the concept, design, and construction of the new facility, working in close collaboration with QCH and Juiced TV to produce a fitout that met the specific functional requirements of the brief while providing a fun and inspiring creative space with a significant art installation.
The project capitalizes on the existing building’s atrium architecture, reflects the vibrant personalities of the stakeholder group, and affords visitors to the hospital a greeting from a larger than life juice box, wedged within the existing hospital floor plate, inviting curiosity and engagement.
