The commercial building at Yeronga is part of the transformation of the former Yeronga TAFE campus into an urban village inclusive of community centre, childcare, retirement living, social housing and townhomes.

The health focused PCA A-Grade, 5-Star commercial building is comprised of five commercial floor plates over two and a half basement levels. Archipelago were engaged to provide architecture, integrated fitout and landscape architecture services in addition to the whole-of site master planning of Parkside Yeronga.

The architectural form defers to its adjoining neighbours; arranging its mass and material response to the cues from the local context. In addition, the building incorporates a half floor at ground and offers the balance as a significant public place. This space performs the important role of providing the significant public realm connection from Memorial Park through the site to the Green Spine and reinforces the park to city spine – the primary structure of the master plan.

The articulated cascading public realm seamlessly embeds equitable access whilst delivering an array of safe, shady sub-tropical outdoor spaces that encourage children and their carers to “get outside”.
